Most of the world is familiar with Craigslist at this point, but what many bloggers don’t know is that it is a great place to get your blog some great free publicity. Depending on what type of business you have or the information you want to share with others, there is a category on this hugely popular website perfect for your needs.
I often write ads for Dadviser, my website and blog for helping fathers improve their relationships with their children, in the groups area of Craigslist, and now that we have a full-time blog on this website, we have seen some success posting ads for this site in the small biz ads section.
In fact, I recently placed an ad that received 19 unique local hits, one of which was converted into a client and at least 4 that subscribed to our blog’s RSS feed. Not bad for five minutes worth of work and no money out of pocket.
If you have a small business blog or website, take a moment to create an action-inducing ad, and post it in the relevant section on your local Craigslist. Give it a couple of days to work its magic and then let us know how it worked out for you. For best results, place two ads and see which one performs better. It will only take you a couple extra minutes and still costs the same: FREE.
